ConEdison Solutions Energy Services team is looking for a Construction Manager to join its Tampa Team.  Construction managers are responsible for overseeing the daily on-site construction activities for various types of projects including HVAC, capital improvement, performance contracting, energy conservation and solar. Specific key areas of focus include monitoring job-site safety and conducting job-site safety meetings, supervising subcontractors and vendors, maintaining project schedules and interfacing directly with the customer. The successful candidate will also provide field support to the office-based Construction, Engineering and Project Development groups when required.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage all job-site construction related activities providing field related support to the project manager, including but not limited to managing field-related project planning, scheduling and quality control
  • Meet or exceed customer’s performance expectations in-line with contract obligations
  • Monitor and manage job-site compliance with the corporate safety plan
  • Assist in the pre-qualification of contractors, subcontractors and equipment vendors
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams in conducting design optimization, value engineering and constructibility reviews of projects
  • Perform cost estimating and purchasing functions

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate engineering a or construction related degree preferred;
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing and implementing MEP, solar and energy related construction projects preferred
  • Previous budget/schedule/performance/quality responsibilities
  • Specific experience with building energy systems including lighting, HVAC, HVAC Controls, central utilities and electrical systems
  • Experience in the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start-up, close-out, turnover and subsequent O&M of a variety of construction projects
  • Minimum 10 hour OSHA training and certification; 30 hour OSHA training preferred
  • Familiarity with local and national building and construction codes and permitting
  • Familiarity with labor unions and union issues
  • Sound and proven management skills
  • Strong construction risk management skills
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to represent the company in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, MS Project and Word
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Frequent travel, up to 60 to 80% of the time across the entire US
