Overview

The Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses (“CEB”) are wholly owned subsidiaries of Consolidated Edison, Inc. (“CEI”). The CEBs develop, own and operate renewable energy projects and provide energy services to wholesale, commercial and government customers throughout the United States.

 

We are looking for an Experienced Recruiter to become a core member of our team and contribute to the mission, vision, and culture at The Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses. The Recruiter will provide full lifecycle recruiting support for a high volume of positions with a focus on maintaining a positive relationship with hiring managers across the business.  A successful person will manage the full lifecycle recruitment process from the initial meeting, assessing job requirements, improving job descriptions, developing appropriate sourcing and compensation strategies to negotiating offers on behalf of the company. Working in partnership with the business, you will be responsible for sourcing and assessing great talent for the organization.

 

This position reports to the Manager of Recruitment and is based out of our Valhalla, NY office.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire recruitment cycle for positions at all levels (from Entry level to Top- Management) including Hiring Manager Intakes, creating and posting jobs, sourcing candidates, screening candidates, interviewing and selection, background checks, reference checks, negotiating job offers and preparing offer letters.
  • Manage candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS), currently iCIMS.
  • Engage in creative sourcing to include: direct recruiting, prospecting, referral sourcing, job boards, associations, targeted emails, social networking both internally and externally.
  • Provide regular updates ensuring that all reporting is both timely and consistent. Report on search progress, including candidate status, pipelines, diversity initiatives, and market related compensation.
  • Ensure all hiring policies and procedures (i.e. any compliance, legal and regulatory requirements) are adhered to. Comply with and educate end users on internal staffing procedures.
  • Partner with HR Compensation Director on offers and compensation recommendations.
  • Ability to act as a recruitment subject matter expert and demonstrate understanding of the line of business recruiting needs by participating in staff meetings, being aware of changes within the business as well as managing hiring manager/candidate expectations. Offer consultative support to hiring managers to make effective hiring decisions.
  • Influence; guide and partner with internal managers both remote and in person to identify, attract, assess and hire the best talent.

 

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/ or at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in volume recruiting
  • HR Generalist experience preferred
  • Experience working in an engineering or energy environment a plus

 

Skills:

 

  • Must have strong, recently demonstrated skills in standard recruitment techniques including use of technology and sourcing techniques
  • Experience conducting behavioral or structured interviews
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system to enhance overall recruiting efficiencies, to improve results and to generate required reports.
  • Strong ability to fully manage "client" relationships with hiring managers -- strong/proactive communicator, strong degree of confidence, ability to fully partner on their staffing needs
  • Ability to recruit with a sense of urgency & deliver under pressure.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information and situations with discretion
  • Knowledge of employment law as it relates to the recruitment and hiring function
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Exceptionally strong analytical ability and superior work ethic
  • Ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Applicant Tracking System (iCIMS preferred), Internet search engines, and Social  Media
  • Ability to be pro-active and handle multiple priorities is a must
  • Strong customer focus
  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities and interface with all levels of management
  • Attend recruiting events, as needed
