    The Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses (“CEB”) are wholly owned subsidiaries of Consolidated Edison, Inc. (“CEI”).   The CEBs develop, own and operate renewable energy projects and provide energy services to wholesale, commercial and government customers throughout the United States. 

    The CEB’s include the unregulated energy companies ConEdison Solutions, ConEdison Energy, ConEdison Development, and Competitive Shared Services, and are a leading national provider of energy and energy services. The CEBs have more than 1000 MW of solar photovoltaic projects and wind farm projects in various stages of operation and development nationwide and is the 5th largest solar company in the United States. 


    This entry level Technical Proposal Developer will be responsible for managing and developing energy engineering, construction and consulting project proposals.


    • Coordinates all phases of proposal development planning, coordination, analysis, production, and delivery. This includes technical analysis and writing, financial pro forma preparation, compiling technical qualifications, commercial deal structuring, market positioning, risk mitigation and contract development.
    • Update company information regularly such as but not limited to team member resumes and certifications, number of employees, project lists, and reference project experience data.
    • Establishes proposal requirements for responding to large technical RFPs and RFQs from government and large commercial customers.  Create risk-responsibility matrices for all proposal development responses to ensure team member participation and timeliness.  Facilitate the team including sales and development personnel, and prepare a proposal response submission in compliance with company and RFQ requirements.
    • Support the Manager, Sales Support in both the Federal and MUSH markets.   In conjunction with the Manager, Sales Support ensure that the company CRM is up to date and properly utilized.  The CRM will be leveraged to run/establish sales pipeline reports.    
    • Comply with the Federal market’s small business reporting requirements by tracking small business vendors utilized on projects and submitting reports through the government’s online eSRS system.
    • Coordinate and assist with trade show and seminar event planning, as well as other marketing support activities such as coordinating promotional give-a-ways. 
    • Utilize various resources to better develop sales leads and proposals.
    • Attend relevant trade show events and seminars as needed in Federal and MUSH markets.  Attend and participate in client meeting and sales calls in an effort to better create new clients and retain current clients.
    • Assist with preparation of sales presentations


    Education: Undergraduate degree in a business or engineering related field.



    • 0 to 3 years experience in writing on topics or proposals for engineering, construction, science or other related, technical fields.
    • Good knowledge of Excel including ability to develop and interpret a financial pro forma and P&L statement; knowledge can be via work or classroom experience
    • Knowledge of financial terms; knowledge can be via work or classroom experienceExperience in commercial deal structuring, contract development, and risk analysis is a plus; knowledge can be via work or classroom experience
    • Understanding of process and software for document control.
    • Excellent interpersonal, consensus building, and teamwork skills.
