Responsibilities

The Wind O&M Manager is responsible for the on-site generation of renewable energy at the Midwest wind projects as well as provides oversight of new construction.  The candidate will be responsible for scheduling, forecasting, and outage notification with the relevant interconnection agencies. S/he will supervise Wind Site Operators and other plant personnel to ensure all production forecasts are met and manage all construction related alliances and sub-contractor relationships pertaining to new installations.

 

The candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operation, planned and corrective maintenance, and event response for these assets. The candidate will furthermore be responsible for ensuring all operations and maintenance activities are performed in accordance with industry best practices, industry best safety practices, company and owner procedures, plans, and guidelines as well as all pertinent laws and regulations including NERC compliance when applicable.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience managing and constructing power plants or equivalent related experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in managing renewable power plants (Wind preferred)
  • 3+ years of wind energy field experience (GE WTG experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of industry standards, OSHA regulations and environmental regulations
  • Knowledge of energy markets and market procedures
  • Experience interacting with local utilities
  • Experience managing, troubleshooting, and working with SCADA/DAS systems
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to safety processes and procedures
  • Working knowledge of electricity and hazards posed by electrical equipment (Med/ High Voltage Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Manage plant activities, preventative maintenance and revise procedures as required to ensure compliance with established standards
  • Interview, select, assign responsibilities and schedule personnel and provide support as required
  • Ensure Site Operating staff is adequately trained and prepared to meet production requirements
  • Evaluate individual and plant activities and implement corrective actions as required

  • Valid Driver’s license required
  • Willing to work on weekends and off shifts as required
