  • Overview

    This position is responsible for all phases of voice and data communications for the Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses.  This includes managing vendor relationships for both services and hardware support and extends to all locations under CEB control, country-wide.  Overseeing the procurement of cell phones and data communications devices and tracking their usage.  The management and vendor direction for the maintenance and upkeep of the Valhalla based Avaya IP Office system, the NICE Voice recorder system, eCas Call Accounting system and various off site systems including Megapath, and other various field based systems. The responsibilities include the training of personnel in the use of voice and data communication services, when necessary.


    This position may be required to work flexible hours, including off hours work and weekends as required by management.


    1. Management of the maintenance and associated moves, additions and changes on the Avaya IP Office telephone system.  This includes the management oversight of CTI and other vendors for the system’s operation and management of the eCAS Call Accounting System.  
    2. Manage and direct the acquisition of telecommunication services in Valhalla and all CEB office locations across the country. This involves the ordering and coordination of new and existing telecommunication services and contracts from various company approved telecom vendors.  
    3. Work with the renewable site network group in the acquisition of telecom services associated with the 90+ Solar and Wind Supervisory and Data Acquisition (SCADA) sites across the country.  Support includes the Texas 8x8 IP Phone system, and the Gates call  answering system.
    4. Manage the deployment of cellular phones/smartphones. Data Communications equipment and User Training.  Manage the interaction with cellular vendors (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) and monitor billing activity.   Handle all problems with cell phones and pagers.  
    5. Assist as required on the CEB Service Desk and provide PC, system and telephone help as required to handle the overflow of the ServiceDesk work.  
    6. Coordinate  and validate all billing associated with telecom services for the CEBs
    7. Manage the Valhalla based recording system(NICE) for Traders, including  coordination  with support vendors 
    8. Monitor the Valhalla and remote office access security and video systems.



    BA or BS in Computer Science or equivalent desired  



    2-4 yrs of experience required
