  • Overview

    The Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses (“CEB”) are wholly owned subsidiaries of Consolidated Edison, Inc. (“CEI”). The CEBs develop, own and operate renewable energy projects and provide energy services to wholesale, commercial and government customers throughout the United States.

      

    Our Con Edison Energy Group is looking for an Energy Analyst to join its team. Con Edison Energy is an experienced power and natural gas marketer serving as a turnkey energy asset manager. We provide customized energy management services to energy asset owners, renewable asset developers, and load-serving entities. We are active in the New England, New York, PJM, ERCOT, and California Independent System Operator markets (ISOs).


    We provide a comprehensive set of services, ranging from operational consulting and strategic planning to core logistical services such as bidding and scheduling, fuel management, and hedge execution.


    We currently provide energy management services to asset owners. We are active on all major Northeast natural gas pipelines. Our services are designed to handle all front-office, mid-office and back-office functions required to optimize the value of merchant energy assets and load portfolios.

    Responsibilities

    The Energy Analyst, under the direction of the Director of Trading, is responsible for various ISO bidding and operational functions associated with physical energy flows and optimizations across ISOs. This includes day-ahead and real-time price forecasting and physical bid/offer structures across various nodes and regions in the northeast and mid-atlantic energy markets, as well as perform intra-day monitoring of energy markets and various front office analysis, evaluations, and reporting. It is a requirement that the Energy Analyst participate in the off-hour and weekend on-call rotation.

     

    1.   Day-Ahead and Real-Time Energy Optimization
    2.   Market Analysis & Forecasting
    3.   Reporting– Prepare and circulate reports internal and external

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Four year engineering/technical, business, economics, or math degree.  Master’s degree a plus

     

    Experience:

     

    • Four year engineering/technical, business, economics, or math degree, 0- 5 years related experience in Electric markets preferred

     

    Job Skills:

     

    • Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills. 
    • Knowledge of energy markets.
    • Knowledge of ISO market rules.
    • Will be required to be available for off-hours operations.
    • High energy level, self-motivated and innovative.
