The Plant Technician is based in CA, and is a member of the Operations Department. The primary purpose of the Plant Technician is to ensure that the CED assets are maximizing energy production at all times and operating at their design point. This position involves both equipment and technology system monitoring, maintenance and repair. The Plant Technician will have experience in several plant controller technologies, programming of control systems, programmable logic controllers, field measuring devices, plant networks, network hardware and software, network troubleshooting, electric metering technologies and telecommunications technology. The Plant Technician will also have a good understanding of utility distribution, controls, and high voltage transmission systems. Overall, the Plant Technician is expected to be well versed in power production service and engineering as well as have had significant practical hands on experience with a proven track record in the energy business. The Plant Technician must have knowledge of power generation safety practices including NFPA 70E and OSHA Rules and Regulations as they apply to power generation, distribution and transmission. Travel to other Con Edison Development project sites is required as needed to support operations. Off–hour and weekend work will be required as part of this position.
