  • Overview

    The Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses (“CEB”) are wholly owned subsidiaries of Consolidated Edison, Inc. (“CEI”).   The CEBs develop, own and operate renewable energy projects and provide energy services to wholesale, commercial and government customers throughout the United States. 

     

    The Information Technology Department at Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses is seeking to hire a highly motivated and dedicated professional to manage, support and implement various infrastructure technologies. The candidate will also take on the role as infrastructure manager supporting various IT operational tasks.  The ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate high energy level, commitment to excellence and possess a high regard for the Company’s values.

    The Systems Manager is responsible for managing and leading a team to successfully deploy infrastructure solutions that give the optimum business value.  Leads planning of infrastructure roadmaps with respects to upgrades, vendor product lifecycles and enhancements; adherence to policies and compliance surrounding application security, cyber security,  personal identification information, disaster recovery,  Sarbanes Oxley, Corporate Risk Management, EH&S and software maintenance contracts. 

    Responsibilities

    1. Implement infrastructure related solutions
    2. Manage multiple assignments with changing priorities, while meeting deadlines. Must manage project milestones and costs against project plan
    3. Learn new technology as required for the job, using documentation and other resources.
    4. Define and develop short-term and long-term infrastructure assets lifecycle plans
    5. Fulfill change requests, and ensure work is performed within budget.
    6. Maintain appropriate systems documentation to support various audits
    7. Adhere, monitor and administer cyber security standards and best practices.
    8. Ensure that technology and procedures used in the deployment and modification of systems meets departmental guidelines and standards
    9. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that support the business area needs
    10. Manage and/or coordinate a team of business and IT professionals. Coordinate periodic status meetings to update users about ongoing activities and perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

     

    Qualifications

    Education:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
    • Network certification is a plus.

     

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in IT, with 3 to 5 years’ experience as a systems architect leader.

     

    Job Skills:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license. This Systems Manager must be able to travel to various Company locations and external venues for business meetings as required.
    • Must be able to work off-hours, when the need arises.
    • Must have operating knowledge and trouble shooting skills in the areas of:          
      • Remote users connectivity; application deployment; O365; active directory
