    As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Manager, Engineering (Renewables) who will primarily be responsible for managing all of the renewable energy engineering activities within the department including project development, estimate development, project design, and managing engineering objectives and initiatives. This position plays a key role in the overall success of the department by planning, managing, and monitoring various engineering functions. Overall responsibilities include overseeing the various engineering projects, processes, budgets, timelines and making the necessary adjustments in order to ensure successful completion.


    • Serve as engineering leader and technical expert.
    • Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the sales, engineering, and project management team members.
    • Create and review detailed engineering drawing packages. Maintain and refine engineering processes and procedures for the engineering staff. 
    • Propose and oversee engineering budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
    • Prepare and maintain project delivery trackers for various engineering projects, including weekly and biweekly updates and meetings.
    • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and methods used by the engineering staff.  Confirm the design meets our internal engineering standards.
    • Oversee various testing and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects.
    • Monitor and determine various staffing and training needs.
    • Hire, train and mentor engineering staff members.
    • Qualify external engineering resources as necessary and manage the task order and accounting process.
    • Spearhead various new product development initiatives and identify areas of value engineering.
    • Review the design approach methods and equipment selection to ensure the best overall project design and customer goals are achieved.
    • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers and contractors.
    • Prepare and review various engineering and proposal related presentations.
    • Support construction activities on site and perform on site visits as necessary to support the project construction.
    • Review Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and EPC agreements to ensure design compliance.
    • Manage the design and engineering of the renewable systems (PV and Battery Storage) for project specific scopes as presented by the development team. Design to include detailed scope of work, complete bill of materials, specifications (where required), drawing packages, preliminary layouts and PVsyst models, and project schedule
    • Maintain design and proposal requirements, knowledge of codes and standards, design procedures, methods and process, and improve efficiency of project development and project selection process
    • Develop and maintain project delivery trackers; Facilitate weekly and biweekly meetings and updates.
    • Assist the project development team in communicating value proposition to the client including participation in client presentations and meetings.
    • Provide technical guidance for legal and business decision making.
    • Support Project Managers/Construction Managers during construction and commissioning.



    • Undergraduate (BS) degree in engineering
    • PE registration as a professional engineer preferred
    • Continuing education in the areas of renewable energy systems


    • 6+ years of engineering experience, ideally in a management role
    • Engineering management or business administration experience preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of commercial/industrial PV system design, permitting, construction, commissioning, and operations and maintenance
    • Strong AutoCAD skills and knowledge
    • Experience in production modeling software such as PVsyst and HelioScope is required


    • Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various problems
    • Able to interact effectively across organizational boundaries to achieve goals and meet deadlines
    • Demonstrate leadership skills necessary to manage and develop the team
    • Possess organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track
    • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
    • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
    • Ability to be a positive representative of the company
    • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills
    • Possess engineering, analytical and technical writing skills
    • Able to write specifications and State of Work (SOW)
    • Skillful with computer software including word processing and spreadsheet analyses
    • Ability to travel out of town as required. (approximately 30% of the time)
