    CES has a growing project pipeline and we are looking to add a Senior Construction Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the daily on-site construction activities for various types of projects including HVAC, capital improvement, performance contracting, energy conservation and solar. Specific key areas of focus include monitoring jobsite safety and conducting jobsite safety meetings, supervising subcontractors and vendors, maintaining project schedules and interfacing directly with the customer. The Sr. Construction Manager will also provide field support to the office-based Construction, Engineering and Project Development groups when required.  The new member will be expected to provide peer mentorship to junior personnel when needed in order to improve the output quality of the Construction Management Department. 


    • Develop and manage all jobsite construction related activities, providing field related support to the project manager including but not limited to managing field-related project planning, scheduling, quality control, and overall subcontract execution.
    • Meet or exceed customer’s performance expectations in-line with contract obligations.
    • Monitor and manage jobsite compliance with current safety standards/best practices.
    • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams in conducting design optimization, value engineering and constructability reviews of projects.
    • Collaborate with Project Management for project development from bid to execution.
    • Perform cost estimating and purchasing functions.



    Undergraduate engineering or construction-related degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.



    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing and implementing complex projects and programs. Construction project leadership experience highly desired. 
    • Previous budget, schedule, performance, QC responsibility experience preferred.
    • Specific experience with building energy systems including lighting, commercial/industrial HVAC, lighting and HVAC Controls, central utilities and electrical systems required.
    • Experience in the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start-up, close-out, turnover and subsequent O&M of a variety of projects.

    Job Skills:

    • Familiarity with local and national building and construction codes and permitting
    • Familiarity with labor unions and union issues a plus
    • Strong construction-focused risk management skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to represent the company in a professional manner
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Strong computer skills including MS Project and MS Office suite
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Frequent travel, up to 100% of the time across the United States
