    Con Edison Energy (CEE) - a subsidiary and registered trademark of Consolidated Edison, Inc. (NYSE: ED) — provides wholesale energy services to over 9,000 MW of third-party generation, while also participating in energy asset leases for the benefit of CEE.  In addition to services to third parties, CEE also provides wholesale services to internal customers including Con Edison Development (CED). Con Edison Development (CED) acquires, develops, builds and operates large renewable and energy infrastructure of solar and wind projects, as well as battery storage assets. CED is the second largest owner and operator of solar assets in North America with a portfolio of 2,600 MW AC in 17 states.


    As CEE and CED continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Analyst to work on the Settlements team.  The Sr. Analyst is primarily responsible for the validation and reconciliation of ISO invoices and settlement detail to ensure that charges and credits are correct and properly allocated. The analyst is knowledgeable of ISO settlement rules, reports and systems, and actively aware of new settlement issues that may impact Company processes. In addition, the analyst will provide support and feedback analysis to the trading desk and to accounting. The analyst will interface with Company clients to ensure that contractual agreements related to settlements and reporting are met.


    • Settlements: Understand both the ISO/RTO and trading settlement rules and process. Create shadow settlements and comparisons of invoices. Submit and track disputes and coordinate with trading desks and clients to resolve issues in a timely manner. Provide to Accounting allocations of ISO settlement charges and credits for journal entry. Attend ISO meetings related to settlements. Analyze cause of prior period adjustments; reconcile and communicate financial impact to front office. Create and maintain accurate cash forecasting reports on behalf of clients.
    • Accounting Department: Provide information to Accounting to perform month-end accruals. Prepare reports and data analyses to support the accounting close process.
      ISO and Markets: Understand the various ISO business rules; stay abreast of proposed and actual changes; understand the electricity market structure and its traded products and their function; assist traders in price discovery and economic valuation of transactions; assist traders in understanding and establishing processes for executing in new markets and products.
    • Regulatory: Preparation, review and submittal of Electronic Quarterly Reports for EMA clients and internal companies i.e. Con Edison Energy and ISO Merchant CED Assets. May also prepare and submit NEB, DOE and FERC 552 Filings.
    • Reporting: Develop reports and analyses for management and external entities. Work with analysts and IT to create new reports or analyses to meet client needs, contractual requirements and to reflect changes in ISO settlement rules.
    • Support CEB: Assist Behind the Meter (BTM) and Utility Scale assets with Allegro invoicing process.
    • Systems: In conjunction with Information Technology manage critical settlement systems such as Adapt2, Allegro, ISO websites, supplier websites, and excel queries. Direct IT department in making changes to systems and databases to reflect changes in ISO settlement rules. Create test cases for validation and documentation.
    • Policies and Procedures: Take the lead in updating procedures, and process flow charts for all activities within the ISO Settlement group.



    • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred


    • 3+ years related experience in Electric markets preferred.
    • Knowledge of ISO accounting and billing; and at least one of the following: PJM MSRS, ISONE MIS CAISO MRIS, or NYISO DSS is preferred.
    • Accounting experience should include some budgeting and forecasting.
    • Experience in the Energy Industry including in the financial and physical trading environment, natural gas or operations is preferred.


    • Advanced MS Excel skills – must be able to demonstrate proficiency in basic to advanced Excel formulas and work-flows including sums, averages, min, max, V-lookups and conditional equations)
    • Experience using databases such as Access or other relational databases
    • Experience using Adapt2 (ISO submission and reporting tool), Allegro (Enterprise Trading & Risk Management) or other comparable systems
    • Some familiarity with database setup, query and VBA programming is a plus.
    • Must be comfortable with learning new software and manipulating reports.
    • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
    • High energy level, self-motivated and innovative.
    • Must be organized, detailed and process oriented. Must have strong interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of company personnel and customers.
    • This position must be available for month-end accounting including weekends when needed.
