  • Overview

    The Associate Asset Manager is responsible for the financial tracking, forecasting, reporting, optimization, operation and maintenance of energy assets.  The candidate will monitor assigned utility scale and distributed generation solar and wind projects across the portfolio to ensure optimal generation performance of the company’s renewable portfolio and ensure accurate reporting of generation to PJM/GATS and NEPOOL/GIS and the PPA billing process. The candidate will be responsible for driving the profitability of solar and wind assets through close collaboration with Con Edison's Operations, Accounting, Trading, Development, IT and related groups.  The Associate Asset Manager will ensure the output of assets are in line with forecasts, project proformas are accurate, hedges are accounted for, maintenance is scheduled and completed as required, and contractual obligations are fulfilled.  The Associate Asset Manager will develop, implement and manage long term maintenance strategies as well as perform analysis of system efficiency to identify opportunities for improved performance.



    1. Financial Oversight – Participate in the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of individual assets and the department at large.  Drive long-term profitability and risk minimization.
    2. Establish relationships with key project partners such as lenders, PPA provider, land owners, management committee members, local civic groups, etc.
    3. Proactively lead management of contracts and ensure all contractual obligations with respect to the project portfolio are met, including but not limited to: project financing, power purchase agreements, land lease, property tax matters, warranty claims, insurance management, interconnection agreement, etc.
    4. Asset Maintenance – Evaluate and manage long term maintenance strategies for assets in the portfolio; manage maintenance contracts; monitor asset status; manage troubleshooting and problem resolution.
    5. Project Development Support – Perform ad hoc analysis as required to support Asset Management and Project Development teams.  Review contracts.
    6. Technical Expertise – Stay informed of accounting rules and valuation techniques relevant to renewable assets.  Keep abreast of industry trends, marketplace changes and regulatory rules.  Fully utilize monitoring system functionality.  Evaluate asset optimization opportunities for performance improvements.
    7. Review project operating reports and documents to ensure production targets are met, as well as compliance with all regulatory requirements. Manage reporting cycle to ensure timely, accurate reporting of financial, operational and contractual obligations.




    • Bachelor’s degree with business administration, engineering, math or finance focus required.
    • Master’s Degree preferred




    • 5-7 years experience in a related energy field preferred.
    • Experience in contract management related to energy facilities preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in building strategic relationships with internal and external project partners and stakeholders.
    • Budgeting, forecasting, energy industry research, and team building are highly desirable.

    • OSI Pi knowledge highly desired
    • 20% travel nationwide
